A "new thing"? .... I don't know. . .
Lately I've been trying to practice a variety of styles and just do a few different things I haven't tried in a while so I can broaden my Portfolio I don't have much that I liked that looked somewhat realistic, so I thought I'd try it. I have been working with a similar tea-party/Alice in wonderland sort of theme though. Won't be that way for forever, there's a lot of other things I want to do, It's just a temporary phase I suppose more or less.

I've been very busy working on this and other pieces of art for my portfolio and doing testing stuff for college and various other family related issues. . . Its been difficult =/ I'm hoping though within the next 2 weeks most of it will blow over, and I will have more free time again to attend to the 1,000+ deviations from people I watch and just the normal stuff lol.

How you do this textures?

Well, I kind of wish I knew how I did it. . .
The paper I used had a little bit of a vertical line texture to it, so to eliminate it with the top hands (so they would look smoother) I worked on a cork-board surface so the texture wouldn't interfere so much. Then to do the hands with the green cup, I worked on a hard flat surface to add to the texture I wanted. Also, I used oil-based colored pencils for the hands, and that gave me more control with the texture as well, and I blended more to make a smoother texture.

For the table and cups I used chalk-pastel and just blended a lot, and for the table to get the slightly-blotchy effect, I used rough paper towel and blended in circles

Yes, in the past it has discouraged me from doing larger pieces... I used to avoid it like the plague lol. Now I'm getting better though, Maybe not with huge sized pieces, but medium-large ones I'm starting to get more comfortable with
